Charmonia

Cecilia Sörensen was born in Helsinki and now lives in the Tramuntana mountains of Mallorca, Spain. A place which brings out a unique sensibility in her eponymous label, where the soul of the Mediterranean island is gently woven into the fabrics of Nordic Minimalism. Her collections are fully produced in Mallorca using organic, GOTS-certified materials, reflecting a casual elegance that’s rooted in conscious craftsmanship and a deep respect for the local community. Every fabric Cecilia uses is exclusively GOTS-certified organic and each and every piece is created with care and intention, often in collaboration with local artisans.

In 2024, Cecilia was one of five designers chosen by LOOP Disseny i Circularitat to help revive Mallorca’s rich embroidery heritage, once a proud tradition passed down through generations of women. Her contribution to the exhibition blended her Scandinavian design ethos with playful reinterpretations of local motifs like the “Nopal” jacket, hand-embroidered with luminous olive branches by a Mallorcan embroiderer. The whimsical collection also includes a linen dress featuring the delicate embroidered outline of Cecilia’s cat, “Moix”, the word for cat in Catalan. The collaboration celebrates the craft’s poetic past, helping to ensure its future by seamlessly weaving cultural memories into garments designed to be lived in.
